More than 7 million Rocky Patel cigars are produced annually

Rocky Patel little cigars are premium Honduran and Nicaraguan cigars that hit the market in the 1990s.

The company was founded by an Indian from Bombay, Rakesh Patel, who, before conquering the peaks of cigar Olympus, successfully practiced law in Beverly Hills. He received his first Rocky Patel little cigars in 1988 at a Playboy party from the hands of charming India Allen, recognized by the popular men’s edition of Playboy as the most beautiful Girl of the Year.

Since then, Rocky has become addicted to cigars. The work of a lawyer also played a significant role in this case: surrounded on all sides by producers and actors who were not indifferent to cigars, he himself was drawn into the cigar-smoking environment.

In the mid-90s of the last century, he became a member of the Grand Havana Room cigar club, which included many of his fellow actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, etc. There he was offered to invest in the production of Honduran Rocky Patel little cigars.

“At that time I had no idea what a quality cigar should be. Understanding of cigars has been developing over time, and I would say that only after 2-3 years I began to understand tobacco,” notes Rocky Patel.

In 1995-1996, his Honduran partner led the production process. The company produced about 150,000 Rocky Patel little cigars annually. A year later, the richer and stronger Indian Tabac Super Fuerte, Super Fuerte cigars appeared.

In the late 90s, Rocky Patel completely retired from the legal profession, devoting himself to the cigar business. He began to personally control the production process – from the fermentation of tobacco, to the creation of a blend and rolling of Rocky Patel little cigars.

Rocky Patel paid particular attention to the process of processing raw materials. Thanks to different fermentation methods, the tobacco of the same farm can be made to taste completely different, he said. To precisely control the moisture and temperature of the leaves during drying, the Calfrista system was used, allowing 30-40% more cover.

At first, Rocky Patel little cigars were rolled only in Honduras, at the El Paraiso factory. Today, part of the production is located in Nicaragua. Nicaraguan cigars use exquisite tobaccos from the fertile valleys of Esteli, Condega and Jalapa. The first two lines created on the basis of these tobacco leaves are Brothers and 1961. Every year the number of Nicaraguan Rocky Patel cigars increases. This is partly due to political unrest in Honduras.

Rocky Patel has tobacco plantations in both Honduras and Nicaragua. In his Rocky Patel little cigars, he uses not only his own raw materials, but also purchased ones.
