If there’s one particularly famous cigar factory in Havana, it’s Partagas. The manufactory was opened by Don Jaime Partagas in 1845 and has since produced the cigars that bear his name. Partagás little cigars can be recognized immediately by its heavy, earthy aroma. The character of this mixture is based on a selection of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, which are selected for their unmistakable richness in taste and aroma.
Partagás little cigars are available in a wide range of shapes and formats. The best known are the series D No. 4, the Lusitania and the 8-9-8, a cigar that got its name from the way they are arranged in 3 layers one above the other in the box. Probably the best known Partagás little cigars, however, are the Partagas Series D No 4, a Robusto that was once part of the legendary Partagas alphabet in the 1930s. In 2005 a Piramide was added, the Partagas series P No.2, which quickly became popular with friends of strong cigars. Series D No.5 and Series E No.2 with ring gauge 54 have been expanding this line since 2011. All formats are fully hand-made fillers.
